This style of chair is also referred to as a ‘captains chair’ - it is a comfortable chair that would be great at a desk. Unusually this chair has a shaped central back splat rather than the typical turned spindles.
Condition: Although the chair is good and sturdy, it has in the past suffered a break through the bow above the first spindle to the right of the central splat. This had been previously repaired rather poorly, so we have made additional repairs to ensure it is solid, though the original repair is still visible. There are worn areas to the back of the chair in the centre - I don’t know how or why these have occurred. Overall though this is a lovely chair with a nice look.
The dimensions are:
Width - 59cm
Depth - 58cm
Height - 77.5cm
Seat height - 42cm approx.
